Zellawood

Zellawood is a five planet system orbiting an orange k-class star in the Canopus Region.  The star Canopus, located only 8 light years away shines brighter than Venus in the skies of the Zellawood System planets.

The system’s primary world is the forest world of Zellawood C.  Thick forests conisting of tall trees that grow hundreds of meters tall thrive in the planet's lower gravity   A fairly large population lives in urban areas surrounded by the ancient forests.  A primitive society exists deep inside the woods living in tribes, they have little to no contact with the technology of the neighboring advanced cities, most don’t even know they exist.

System: Zellawood

Zellawood Planets

Zellawood B
The inner, hot, rocky world of Zellawood B.  The planet doesn't have an atmosphere creating a vacuum on the surface.  What little resources exist on this planet are difficult to extract because of its proximity to the sun.

Distance: 0.37 AU

Orbit: 82 days

Temp: 353 K

Mass: 0.18 Earth

Radius: 3522 km

Gravity: 0.59 g

Rotation: 67 hours

Zellawood C
The habitable world of the Zellawood system.  The planet's continents are flat and covered in dense forests.  Zellawood C is a world of contrasts; large advanced cities home to millions rise out of the forests, they neighbor a primitive society that lives in the deep in the woods unaware of their urbanized neighbors.

Distance: 0.62 AU

Orbit: 179 days

Temp: 288 K

Mass: 0.46 Earth

Radius: 4854 km

Gravity: 0.80 g

Rotation: 32 hours

Zellawood D
With a similar size, composition, orbit, and gravity this world could be considered an Earth twin, but orbiting a dimmer sun places it just outside the habitable zone.  Zellawood D is cold dead world covered in ice.  Dark sections of iron oxide dust cover areas of old ice while the newer ice shines bright white.

Distance: 1.05 AU

Orbit: 394 days

Temp: 182 K

Mass: 0.44 Earth

Radius: 6741 km

Gravity: 0.99 g

Rotation: 29 hours

Zellawood E
Zellawood E is a ice covered world lacking an atmosphere.  Water and carbon dioxide ice make up the majority of composition, though other compounds including deposits of sulfur dioxide exist.

Distance: 1.60 AU

Orbit: 735 days

Temp: 165 K

Mass: 0.20 Earth

Radius: 4162 km

Gravity: 0.47 g

Rotation: 31 hours

Zellawood F
Orbiting at a distance of 4 AU, Zellawood F is a Saturn sized gas giant with a common hydrogen helium atmosphere.  Traces of methane in the upper atmosphere give the planet its slight blue hue.

Distance: 3.97 AU

Orbit: 7.9 years

Temp: 106 K

Mass: 0.34 Jupiter

Radius: 49,057 km

Gravity: 1.82 g

Rotation: 14 hours
