Vindemiatrix
Gas giant in the Vindemiatrix System and one of its moons
System: Vindemiatrix (Epsilon Virginis) Stellar Type: G8III ☼ Mass (Sol): 2.6 Companion Star(s): None Distance from Earth: 110 ly Constellation: Virgo Population: 40 Million
Summary: Vindemiatrix is a yellow g-class giant star in the Virgo constellation. The star is orbited by a large gas giant which has multiple moons. Orbiting at a distance of 7 AU from the star, the moons of the Vindemiatrix System were frozen for a short period after cooling enough from the system's formation. The moons iced over then were quickly melted into global oceans as Vindemiatrix blew up into a giant. Under thick atmospheres and protected by a strong magnetosphere around the gas giant, the moons water covered surfaces are shielded from the stars intense luminosity and radiationClosest Inhabited Systems:
