Baten Kaitos is a planetary system orbiting a orange K-class star.  The system lies in the Cetus Constellation of the Cetus Region.

 
Baten Kaitos is a large, red giant sun orbited by a gas giant.  The gas giant, Baten Kaitos B's largest moon has a surface that's covered in water.  The moon froze over early after cooling during the system's formation.  As the sun grew into a red giant, the ice melted covering the moon in a global ocean.

 Despite having generally habitable temperatures, the moon lacks any land areas as it's entire surface is a deep ocean.  The system's entire population reside in orbital cities around the moon and gas giant.

Baten Kaitos B is a large gas giant that contains over 1.5 times Jupiter's mass.  The planet is composed of a mixture of hydrogen, helium, along with traces of neon.
